E – Engagement
According to the PERMA theory in positive psychology, engagement refers to being fully immersed in meaningful activities that draw on our personal strengths and capture our full attention. This deep involvement—often described as the state of flow—creates a sense of timelessness, focus, and inner fulfillment. When individuals engage in tasks that challenge and excite them, they experience greater satisfaction and gradually develop skill and mastery. Engagement supports personal growth, builds motivation, and increases psychological resilience. Positive psychology, through the PERMA model, seeks to understand how individuals can cultivate more engagement in everyday life—leading to a more vibrant, purposeful, and satisfying existence.
