The Amazing Power of Character Strengths

اسم المؤلف: رايان نيمي وروبرت ماكجراث

This book highlights character strengths and their positive impact on the life of the individual and society. Virtues and character strengths have received considerable attention from positive psychology scholars and researchers, and extensive scientific research has been conducted to understand the impact of activating them on improving the quality of life across different cultures and ethnicities. Positive psychology has classified six basic virtues: wisdom, justice, courage, humanity, moderation, and transcendence. These virtues encompass 24 strengths, as follows: Wisdom includes the strengths of creativity, curiosity, love of learning, rational judgment, and holistic vision. Courage includes the strengths of boldness, perseverance, honesty, and enthusiasm. Humanity includes the strengths of love, kindness, and social intelligence. Justice includes the strengths of team spirit, fairness, and leadership. The virtue of moderation includes the strengths of tolerance, humility, deliberation, and self-discipline. The virtue of transcendence includes the strengths of gratitude, hope, humor, spirituality, appreciation of beauty, and uniqueness. After completing a free survey on the VIA website, you will receive a personalized report listing your strengths, ranked in order of their strength and most active. The top five strengths are called your distinctive strengths. You can then use this book, which is a simplified reference and guide for understanding, developing, and utilizing your strengths in relationships, work, society, and even self-development. You can gain a deeper understanding of yourself when you read what it looks like to under- or overuse a certain strength. Discover the importance of building and developing your personal strengths so that you can activate them to serve you, whether in dealing with challenges or experiencing more positive emotions, raising the quality of life, and achieving a higher level of satisfaction. In this book, you will find effective strategies for enhancing and developing each of your personal strengths to become a better version of yourself, in addition to a comprehensive, four-week curriculum that includes practical steps for building and utilizing your strengths to the best of your ability.
