Millie Marotta I spend my days creating intricate nature based illustrations for my colouring books and other exciting projects from my studio by the sea in a little corner of West Wales. Growing up on a small holding in the hills of rural Wales, as a child I was surrounded by nature in all its glorious forms. It was during these early years that I developed an obsession with all things flora and fauna and later went on to study Wildlife Illustration. My passion for wildlife, a love of decorative design and a keen eye for detail are at the core of my work. All my illustrations begin life as hand drawn images, first as a pencil sketch and then as a detailed ink drawing, occasionally images are turned into a repeat pattern using digital media. Above all else my intention is simply to create beautiful work, which both celebrates and raises awareness of our incredible natural world.
